ท้องฟ้า มหาสมุทร วาฬ เบียร์ ชา หนังสือ ช็อกโกแล็ต และมนุษย์ เป็นส่วนประกอบที่น่ารักของร้านหนังสือเล็กๆ แห่งหนึ่งใกล้ตลาดสวนพลู Fathom Bookspace

When you found your favorite bookstore and the owners asked you to do illustrations for them, you took a deep breath and jumped into the sea which full of stars, a whale, many bottles of beer, many cups of tea, chocolate and lovely people.

ฉันรู้จักร้าน Fathom Bookspace มาได้หนึ่งปีกว่าๆ จากงานทอล์กเล็กๆ เกี่ยวกับหนังสือภาพสำหรับเด็กที่จัดขึ้นโดยสำนักพิมพ์ Wytwórnia และสถานทูตโปแลนด์ หลังจากนั้นนอกจากแวะเวียนไปเยี่ยมเยียนเป็นครั้งคราวเพื่อหาหนังสือดีๆ อ่าน จิบชาดอกไม้บานสะพรั่งและโกโก้อร่อยๆ ฉันก็ได้มีโอกาสร่วมแสดงนิทรรศการและจัดเวิร์กชอปเล็กๆ กับที่นี่อีกด้วย (ดูบันทึกย้อนหลังเพิ่มเติมได้ที่ป่าและผลไม้เมืองร้อน) ท่ามกลางกิจกรรมมากมายที่เจ้าของร้านช่างสรรหามาหมุนเวียนเปลี่ยนธีมไปทุกๆ เดือน ฉันพบว่าฟาท่อมคือพื้นที่สำหรับทุกคน มีความยืดหยุ่นและเข้าอกเข้าใจผู้ที่มาเยี่ยมเยียนอยู่เสมอ ซึ่งการทำงานร่วมกันในครั้งนี้ก็เป็นอย่างนั้น : ))

I have known Fathom Bookspace since 2017 from the event called “Picture books matters: workshop for Thai illustrators” which was organized by The Embassy of the Republic of Poland and Wytwórnia publishing house. After that, I had chances to collaborate with this bookstore to do an exhibition and two workshops(1,2).

The owners will change the theme of their bookshop every month, each theme will allow us to know ourselves in the deep and meaningful way. It is a nice place to chill out from the chaos of Bangkok, and of course, from our exhausted minds.

It was my pleasure to work with them.
